God speaks to us
God wants to have fellowship with us. He wants to talk to us, sing, paint, dance, rejoice, but also mourn and cry with us. He loves each of His children and longs for each of us.

When we, like the Prodigal Son in the parable of Luke 15, repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Guide, we can experience that God the Father runs to meet us with open arms.
We get to know God anew, step by step. We learn to speak and understand his language. The written word of God helps us with this. In the Bible we can see how he spoke to our fathers and mothers of faith, how he revealed himself to the prophets and prophetesses, and how he taught and warned people.
The greatest prophet and teacher (rabbi) was our Lord Jesus Christ. He taught his disciples and pupils how to pray, among other things. In the "Our Father" prayer, he shows us how we can address our eternal and great God. God wants to be our closest confidant.
Praying means seeking conversation with God.
Praying means talking and exchanging ideas with our heavenly Father and/or with our brother Jesus. There should be a dialogue, i.e. the conversation should go both ways. It is therefore important that we do not just ask God for things or thank Him, but that we wait for His answer or request. The Holy Spirit accompanies us in prayer and helps us to translate our earthly words and the heavenly language and to explain God's images and parables to us.
God often speaks through direct words from the Bible, but He also uses images and symbols to communicate with us. We must take the time and be ready to hear God. Samuel, the prophet, learned at a very young age to say:
“Speak, O LORD, for your servant is listening!” (1 Samuel 3:9,10)
We too can hear God's voice today. Jesus said:
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give to them eternal life, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one." (John 10:27-30)
Do you take time to fellowship with your living God, as Adam, Noah, Abraham and others once did? It is still possible. Our God is still waiting for you. He is waiting for you to turn to Him, to follow Jesus. Jesus explained to Thomas:
"I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me!" (John 14:6)
Dare to follow Jesus; engage in conversation with Jesus and with God the Father. Take time to have fellowship with God.
