The most famous prayer:
The Lord's prayer
Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will will happen,
as in heaven, so on earth.
Our daily bread Give us today.
And forgive us our debts
as we also forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Because yours is the kingdom
and the power and the glory
for eternity. Amen.
Gospel of Matthew 6: 9-13
The belief in
God the Father
God declares:
Moses asked Me my name and I answered him: "I am that I am!" What kind of name is that, you are probably asking now. However, in the language spoken at the time, this name makes a lot of sense. The word יהוה (YHWH or also YHWH) is my own name in the Hebrew Bible text. My name becomes clearest in Exodus 3:13-17. Here I, My servant Moses, first revealed My name as:
אֶֽהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶֽהְיֶה ehyeh asher ehyeh (in English: I am, who I am) and later אֶֽהְיֶה ehyeh (I am).
My child, for you too, "I am who I am and who I will be". The Israelites call Me because they have lost the exact pronunciation: אֲדֹנָי Adonai, which means something like the Eternal and the Almighty Lord. Sometimes just הַשֵׁם haShem (the name) is used. In your Bible translations, יהוה has been translated as either YAHWEH, JEHOVAH, Jahua, the Eternal or the Almighty or LORD. At that time I was addressed as El, which means God, but this is not My name.
My name appears in many words. The word "Hallelujah" or rather "HalleluJAH" often appears in your songs. Here you see the short form יה JH. So "HalleluJAH" means "prices JAH".
Just as your name is important and meaningful, so is My name important to Me. However, you, as my children, may and should address Me as Father, Papa or Abba or Avva (as it is pronounced in Hebrew/Aramaic) - Jesus has shown you in the one prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) which you call the "The Lord's prayer," how you can best address me and what a prayer with me should look like and what it should contain.
My name is circumscribed by experiences that My faithful servants had with Me, therefore one can also speak of many names. These names reflect My personality or essence, just as your names say something about you.
